Alabaster Collection
Natural stone that turns luminous when lit, on brass and bronze frames.

Alabaster is a soft, fine-grained stone that is translucent when cut thin. Lit from within, it glows with a warm, even light and shows its own veining, which is different in every piece, so no two fixtures are identical. It has been used for lamps since antiquity and has become the material of the moment in contemporary interiors.
The collection covers globes, discs, bowls, cylinders and linear bars, as pendants, chandeliers, flush mounts, sconces and lamps, almost all on brass or bronze frames and many with integrated dimmable LED. Several pieces are offered in natural white, honey and banded stone.
Alabaster suits rooms that are quiet: bedrooms, studies, dining rooms with plaster walls and natural materials. It gives light without glare.

Questions we are asked
Is alabaster fragile?
It is softer than marble and should be handled with care during installation, but once hung it is as durable as any fixture. Pieces are packed with the stone elements separately crated.
What colour is the light?
Alabaster warms whatever passes through it. With a 2700K source the light reads as candle-warm; with 3000K it is a soft neutral white.
Can the veining be chosen?
Within limits. We can send photographs of the stone selected for your piece before assembly on request.
